Ford began a solo heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. Ford began vocal training followed by her debut album as a solo artist, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford did not achieve much with either album, so she walked away from the rock scene for about 10 years. Her smashing album, 'Lita" was released in 1988 and was her return with an explosion. Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever, both that were massive hits and are just two of the examples. Her success was not long-lasting, as she disappeared for several years. Her return came with the release of "Black" in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland' almost 15 years later. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Time Capsule,' was made available. Her name was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
